Before asking about certification please use the “Search this Forum” box on the top right corner of your screen. Enter the single word “certification” and you’ll get around 20 result topics, all of which have various disussions about the current implementation (or lack thereof) of BusinessObjects certification. Thanks.
I don’t know what you mean by “dumps” so I cannot answer your question. If you are, however, asking for the exam questions and answers then the answer is No.
This morning I heard on the Public Radio that my post was offensive.
I want to apologize for an inappropriate joke. I wish luck to anyone seeking BECP. Let me assure you that learning materials and hands on work is enough to breez through the exams.
That’s great encouregement. I’m studying now for the exam. I’ve been working alot with XI, and have been going through the classes, both online and classroom. There’s so much to learn, but I’m getting more confident as I work with the product.
Thanks Michael.
For me the trick was to learn what each service does and learn workflows e.g. what happens during on-demand viewing
I found Level II to be easier than Level I since scope of questions was more focused. For someone at your level Level III should not a big challange either.
Good luck, may be we can celebrate in Novemeber together. This time no one is keeping me from attending.
hey, how r u all? r u going to make the BECP exams?? now am studing for these exams also but the first and second exams, but the third i didnt take the course related to so i dont know if it is enough to study its manual?? but i think its very interesting exams :)…
rawan, It’s great to have your participation on BOB, but please avoid using Instant Message abbreviations here. Please take the time to spell out the words, making to easier to read by our international community. Thanks.
Wow, looks like you guys have put in a lot of hard work…I am planning to give XI certification as well and have started my preparation recently.
Since you might have given atleast one level till now, I would like to know the format of questions. Per say, will the questions be multiple choice or descriptive or we would be required to build a report or would we be expected to jot down steps for something ( Example: making a new connection) etc.
This is my first attempt at a BO certification and I do not know what to expect, so any help is appreciated.
Thanks,
Dex
I haven’t taken any tests yet, so I don’t know what it’s like. I’m not really concerned about that. I’m interested in learning as much as I can about Business Objects. And if I do, then I will pass regardless of what the test is like.
There are true / false, multiple choice (single answer), and multiple choice (multiple answer) questions. They have to be determinate answers (no fill-in-the-blank) because they are graded by the computer, so an answer must either be right or wrong.
The tough ones are the multiple-choice multi-answer questions, which can be something like:
Q: Identify all of the following that are true
BOB is awesome
BOB sucks
BOB is my home page
1 and 3 but not 2
1 and 2 but not 3
All of the above
None of the above
If you miss any part of the multiple correct answers, the entire question is wrong.
about the exams, i didn’t make any exams untill now but i knew that the exams are multiple choices but they are very exact and obscure exams so good luck for all and for me too…
10% questions were subjective especially in Part I
20% questions had one obvious answer
50% questions can be answered if you take a moment and think it through in light of your experience (see Dave’s post)
20% questions required mastery of the material and handling some curve balls, for example exact same choices one used the word downloaded and other used the word streamed. Course used the word streamed to identify file transfer between FRS and Page server. So the question becomes are they testing your knowledge of BOE processes or mastery of material or they want to make sure you can distinguish between downloaded and streamed processes.
All in all being BECP means squat if you have dont have hands on experience. But you can not pass it if all you have is experience but no understanding of the architecture and process flows. Part III requires experience and understanding beyond BOE
good luck all
The three exams that I’m looking at the achieve the BECP are CMC, server administration and deployment. They are expected to add exams for universe and report design in the future.
The exams will change on July 3rd to include Release 2. The certification will become “BOCP”. The number of questions on the 2nd exam go from 40 to 50 and the time for the second exam goes from 80 minutes to 100 minutes.
