Author notes: This project plan is a major rework of the previous version and covers all major components in installing and migrating to XI3 from BO6.5.
Version: 0.1 for Windows 2003 SP2.

XI.3.0_Migration_Plan
XI3_System_Control_Sheet - consolidation of site specifics
Supervisor_Function_Settings.xls (V6)
XI_Security.xls (XI)
Discontinued - secViewer.
New - Text import function for users etc
The project plan times and dates were guestimated - some times got altered when applying Constraint Type column.
NO Predecessors applied - apply this for project scope.
Any comments and feedback to make this more practical will be welcome.
Note: I am about to do a first XI3 migration, so I have based all content on previous XIr2 migration experiences - and manual reading.
i.e. I had to stop at a generic level on the plan, prior to applying some site specifics - and am now tired of generic planning and want to grab specifics XI.3.0_Migration.zip (206.0 KB)
One suggestion. You may want to save the project plan to an Excel or HTML format. I’m guessing many don’t have a copy of Microsoft Project or the viewer installed. If you choose to do so, post a new topic in Uploads, and a moderator can merge it with this topic.
Ta - it was a first pass - no practical exposure - will update as I go along.
I have already added a few additional components to the original and will pass that back next week along with an OO version.
Each member has an upload quota on BOB, so a ZIP file makes the most sense - 3 of the 4 files in this zip file are Excel documents, the final one’s filetype looks like a Microsoft Project plan.
So download the zip file and extract the Excel documents.
Uh - I meant to provide an Open Document or Excel version, but never got around to it The excel spreadsheets contained in the original zip are supporting documents.
I’ve now created an excel version of the mpp - I just need someone to brief me as to the best method to take the new copy up …
Quota ? Could you provide some info on that as I started out with what was supposed to be a Dev Life Cycle doc that is kinda spidering out to an info pack as supposed to one document
Each BOB member is only allowed to upload so many mb of data (can’t remember the amount). Zipping will allow you to upload more without reaching that limit.
I have the xls version of the mpp - how do I include it in the original zip - or add it to this thread as the EDIT function does not seem to enable an update of the orginal attachment?
Can you share the project plan for BO XI R2 to BO XI R3 migration ? We are currently upgrading to BO XI R3 from R2, and I want to make sure that all points are covered.

The attached migration plan formed the basis of the overall project plan. The difficult part is in determining whether to big bang or phase all the respective business solutions.
