Further discussion on this downloadable should take place in this topic .
Author’s Notes:
The files provided will allow you to report on Business Objects command restrictions and user profiles. Included is the sql to create and load a table containing the names of the modules and the names and group names of the individual permissions. Also included is the sql to create the views necessary to report on the recursive permissions structure. I have provided the universe and a report as well. It allows you to report on more than just module permissions but I have not yet experimented with anything but module permissions.
This technique was originally posted as an InSight in the Business Objects Knowledge Exchange. I have modified that original InSight for V6. To view the original Insight, query the KX on ‘repository security universe’. It will be in the resultant list of topics.
Instructions for use: Download and open the zip file Create the views with names beginning with CrView1 in your repository database schema Create the views with names beginning with CrView2 in your repository database schema (these are dependent upon the views created in the previous step) Create and load the table in the file named ‘Create Table OBJ_M_RES_FEA_LOOKUP V6.sql’ Open RepoOrcl.unv. Change the connection to point to your repository database schema. Use Application Permissions Version 6.rep to report on group or individual permissions.
The first set of views assume that your repository structure has groups 7 or less levels deep. If your structure is deeper, the views must be modified to add the additional levels. If your structure is more shallow, you may remove some of the union queries to improve performance.

Hi Cindy,
Can you post BO 5 version of the above universe. I did go to BO site to check the universe in KX, but i didn’t see KX anymore and even knowledge base didn’t give my any security universe.
Thanks.

Chris,
Thanks for your response. You mean BO 5 Installation CDs? I don’t have access to those CDs now, can you post the universe if you have.
Thanks.

As far as I remember, on BO v5 installations CDs there was managerO universe and not this one (Security Repository Universe). But I may be wrong

No Marek you are right. Only Managero was available.

you could probably start with this universe … then do a check integrity and retrofit it
