:?: What are the differences between the Infoview options for viewing a full client document in Webi?

:!: First, all documents created in Webi are in HTML format.

Full client Business Objects documents being viewed in Webi can be viewed as HTML, PDF, or enhanced document format (ActiveX). There is a substantial difference in how the same document looks and prints depending on the option selected.

Standard HTML Format

:arrow_forward: You can view documents easily and quickly in HTML format.
:arrow_forward: When you open a Business Objects document in standard HTML format, the tabs are converted into hyperlink text which appear at the bottom of the screen. You can click to view individual reports within the file.
:arrow_forward: You cannot see page headers and footers.
:arrow_forward: HTML format has various printing restrictions.
:arrow_forward: When you print a document the browser determines the headers, footers, width and the number of printed pages per HTML page.
:arrow_forward: You can improve the appearance of printed HTML documents by activating more printing options in the browser.
:arrow_forward: To print a document choose File…Print in your browser.

Enhanced Document Format

:arrow_forward: Business Objects documents appear as they do in the Business Objects full client product.
:arrow_forward: You see the same formatting including page headers and footers.
:arrow_forward: You can navigate through the document by sections.
:arrow_forward: You can zoom into the document.
:arrow_forward: Fonts that are not available with HTML are rendered in this format.
:arrow_forward: Enhanced format provides WYSIWYG printing.
:arrow_forward: To print a document click the Print button in the document viewer toolbar.
:arrow_forward: The Page Setup button in the toolbar lets your set margin size, paper format and page orientation.

PDF

:arrow_forward: Allows you to view documents using Adobe Acrobat Reader.
:arrow_forward: Report titles in the document appear as hyperlink text at the bottom of the screen. You can click to view individual reports within the file.
:arrow_forward: If the report has multiple sections they will appear below the report title in the Bookmarks pane.
:arrow_forward: You can print the PDF document whether or not the fonts are installed on your machine.
:arrow_forward: To print a document click the Print button in the PDF viewer toolbar.

Optimized for my Browser

:arrow_forward: Uses best viewing format for your browser.
:arrow_forward: :arrow_forward: IE - Enhanced Document Format
:arrow_forward: :arrow_forward: Netscape - Standard HTML

What is ZABO?

ZABO == “Zero-Admin BusinessObjects” == 3-tier full-client BusinessObjects

This is a special version of full client where you don’t have to go to the user’s desktop and do an installation. Instead, the user visits the WebI server, sets options to use BusinessObjects as the query editor, tries to create/edit a query, and an installer launches and installs a mini version of full client on the user’s desktop.

Every time the user uses ZABO version of “full-client” reporter, rather than 2-tier client -to- database server, ZABO does 3-tier:
client -to- WebI server -to- database server. The WebI server has the middleware, and receives the query results back, and forwards the results to the client desktop.

A 3-tier version of full client will exist in XI r2, but it will not be ZABO – it will not handle the zero-admin installation.
