How official is this news?

aroche :us: (BOB member since 2006-06-06)

It’s from SAP Support.

kayser (BOB member since 2009-09-07)

If it is from SAP Support, shouldn’t it be posted on sap.com and not wordpress.com?

The deski end-of-life, at least, is true:

I’m told the application is still being tested internally and while there is no “official” feature list, these details were emailed to me from SAP support.

But if this is true (DF added to Designer in xi 4 release) server specifications are going through the roof!
( whoops the addition of DF in Xi4 is from another post/article, not the one above)

The changes in specifications between Xi2 en Xi3 are allready noticeable(eg. Xi3 will run slower on same box were Xi2 is installed)

But with the addition of DataFederator to Xi4 (as for now a individuel server component) you will need a big ass server (if you do it all on one server)

Your mentioned features are just same as what is been Active topic right now.Dont know why you have started another thread again.

Thanks

Since it’s the first SAP version let’s wait and see

It is gonna be great from what I have seen, but I might be biased

Andreas :de: (BOB member since 2002-06-20)

You surely are biased 8) …do you have any inclination as to whether the product will be better tested than major and minor releases have been in the past?

Nick Daniels :uk: (BOB member since 2002-08-15)

So no support for XP or Win2k3-32bit? Wow.

joepeters :us: (BOB member since 2002-08-29)

From what I know they’ve completely replaced Crystal and Webi expression/formula editors with ABAP for platform consistency. Also, from InfoView, you have to use transaction codes to navigate further along the portal , eg: FLDMI0110 brings you to “My InfoView” ;>

I would be quite sure that they’re talking about server architecture. I think 32 bit clients are still available.
