SAP BODS 4.0 services failed to start after REPAIR performed

Hi Experts,

SAP application: SAP BODS 4.0

OS: Windows 2008 Server R2 Enterprise

Database: SQL 2008 Server R2

We’ve have performed Repair on SAP BODS 4.0 application and after system restart the BODS services FAILED to start:

Services with the error

  1. Data Service Designer

A blank check box with red cross circle

  1. Data Services Server Manager

The base keycode for data service platform was not found or has expired. Obtain a valid keycode and use license manager to update your installation (BODI - 310204).

  1. SAP Business Objects License Manager

The XML product mapping file could not be found or loaded. Please consult the system administrator guide.

  1. JOB Server

Job server DCADPD701:3500 is not accessible. Connection refused:connect

  1. ACCESS Server

Access Server ‘dcadpd701:4000’ is not available. If SSL protocol is used, the java keystore for the management console must contain the certificates for the access server. (BODI- 3016130)

We’ve updated the permanent license received in regedit [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Business Objects\Suite 12.0\EIM\Keycode] from SAP and all services were running fine before repair.

Find the error noticed in the document enclosed.
Kindly, help us to revert back the original settings.

Too many issues!!! Sorry about that.

By the way 2 questions to begin with…

–> On which folder you installed DS?
–> Did you get any Warnings on the initial check for softwares required screen?

Importantly, are you using a Local Administrator Account to invoke the software? To make everything is fine, choose setup.exe and right-click choose Run as Administrator and then keep going?!!!

Other suggestion is that the Windows corrupted?? Think about that too.

What made you perform repair of the installation?

Hi,

we have the same situation with DS 4.1 SP3 Patch2 now.

We did a normal Patch installation.
After reboot we had some problem with the Data Services.
So we executed a “Repair” Installation with same patch.

Now we have the same errors as described in first post of this topic.

Does anybody know how to solve this?
One of our productive Nodes is corrupt now. :frowning:

we got the solution via OSS Call from SAP Support.

The SAP Note 1826666 solved the issue in our case.
