Excel file cannot be read

Hi

I am using an excel file as a data source . I am not able to get data from it .
When i try to import excel work book i get the following error

BODI-1112338:eRROR:Cannot import metadata
OLE or COM processing error :

I tried many ways like renaming it to csv and txt to see if it can read it but without any luck

i tried converting it to csv and then it worked using a converter . But that tool was not a freeware so that solution doesnt hold .

I was wondering if there is any limitation on the format of the sheet or something that i should look for in my excel sheet which is why i cant get it to work.

I have attached the file for reference .

Hi Gomes,
I tried to declare your file in excel work book it wrked for me.
I was not able to attach the screen shot here. let us know how you
are declaring the file in DI.

thats good news and also surprising

well i went the normal way

go to format tab
then excel work book
give the directory
give the filename
and then the workbook
then import
this is where i get an error

is there some other way you are doing it

Hi,
Did you give the named range or worksheet.I gave worksheet.
and all fields.also do check use first row values as column names.

it should work for and you.the other msitake woulde be in the path too.

Thanks for the quick response

yes i did try with both options it says the table is in an unrecognized format

ill really appreciate if you could give me a screenshot of the import and maybe how the table looks when its loaded with this data

i did a copy paste into another workbook and tried using that but i got a lot of nulls in the result

   I am also getting the error

ole or com processing error External table is not in the expected format. Gomes how did you fix your error. we are using version 12.1.1.0
