Drilldown from Bar Chart with 2 Series

Hi,

I am hoping one of the Xcelsius experts can help me with this one:

I have a bar chart which shows the day of the week and for each day two channels (so the bar chart has two series).

What I need to do now is drill down from this bar chart to show the top 5 shows viewed on that day/channel. I have the data summarized this way in Excel but I can’t seem to figure out how to make this work in Xcelsius so that when I click on the bar for Wednesday/Channel 1 it will show me the 5 shows for that day/channel in a table.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Are you using a Stacked Bar chart or a Bar Chart. If is the second one I didn’t understand how you represen the data.

Probably you can solve it with Drill Down (Position/Status List) + Dynamic View in the table component.

No, it’s not a stacked bar chart. It’s just a bar chart with 2 series so that the bars are side by side.

Ok now I understood I’ve just posted a problem which can solve your problem.

I think if I understood your bar chart takes the values from drill dowm, I mean if you click monday show you Monday’s chart and a bar per channel then you want to click a bar and show the 5 TV of that channel.

My solution is:

  • Do 7 bar chart (one per day of the week)
  • Load bar chart with dynamic view
  • Table should be refresh with the drill down of each bar chart

The problem, once you change the day the table has the last information and won’t change untill you click again in a new bar.

I’m not sure I understand.

I have attached what the bar chart looks like in a Word doc. Basically, when the user clicks on any of the bars the top 5 shows for the date/channel they pick needs to be shown in a table below.
