I had an issue with installaing Crystal Reports 2008 on my XP machine with XI 3.1.
I installed CR and recieved failed to register .dll errors. I chose to ignore the the error messages. Once the install completed I recieved a procedure entry point error message and CR would on not start. This is a known issue and is resolved with CR 2008’s SP1.
Once I kicked off the SP1 it unzipped the files and took several minutes before the installation dialog box appears so be patient. This resolved me issue. The SP1 download can be found:
"This is a known issue and is resolved with CR 2008’s SP1. "
I believe not, tell me how I know
OS: windows xp prof with SP2
DB: sql server 2005
App srv: tomcat 5.5.20
BOE platform : XIR3.0
If you install CR2008 with sp 1 on top of this, you receive a service point entry error when you try to start CMS.
If you go with suggested way, which is uninstalling CR 08, this time a core dynamic link library boezlib.dll will disappear from your system.
After that you cannot start CMS.
Running BOEXIR3 setup.exe and repair wont solve the problem either.
Now, Im reinstalling everything again (except CR08)
BTW I tried to locate boezlib.dll via google and there is only one reference web page, which is useless
Could you offer any recommendation to upgrading the Tomcat Apache 5.0.27 to 5.5 without doing any reinstall of Business Objects? we are on BO XIR2 sP 4.3
We get this same error from existing Crystal Reports 2008 sp2 installs after installing the service pack 2.6 for BO XI 3.1.
I also tried a clean install of Crystal 2008 sp1 on another machine and got the same error, then upgraded that install of Crystal 2008 to sp2 and still get the error.
We also get a win32 error and Deski crashes when users try to edit common variables.
