Re-install process without BIAR

My BOXI R3.0 system is down due to installing CR 2008 SP1 on the same server. See post below for details of problem.

Just as an FYI. I had an issue with installaing Crystal Reports 2008 on my XP machine with XI 3.1. I installed CR and recieved failed to register .dll errors. I chose to ignore the the error messages. Once the install completed I recieved a procedure entry point error message and CR would on not start. This is a known issue and is resolved with CR 2008’s SP1. Once I kicked off the SP1 it unzipped the files and took several minutes before the installation dialog box appears so be patient. This…

I need to reinstall BOXI R3.0 on the same server, but I do not have a BIAR file. If I have a copy of the Repository DB and the File Store, can I reinstall and point the new installation to the saved repository DB and file store? I have performed system migration on CE10 by just using the repository DB and file store, but I want to make sure before I try.

I have been searching these boards for the past 2 hours looking for an answer without much luck. Please let me know of a post or if you can give me the steps for saving my reports.

Hi, We are trying to move BO repository database from one Oracle server to another Oracle server, I would like to know the steps involved in this process. Also is there any document which gives the details about this migration? Thanks, Phil (BOB member since 2005-03-31)

Is it a BO XI3.x repository database which stopped working on existing server and you want it to be pointed from another XI 3.x installation

No, the BOXI R3.0 installation had files overwritten by Crystal 2008 SP1. I couldn’t open the CCM due to missing DLL’s. Actually all the client tools wouldn’t open because of missing DLL’s. And CMS would fail to start.

I called in a support issue to SAP and I have the system back up and running. Had to re-install everything. Still having some small issues, but its back up and running.
