Cross Tab Heading-Merging the cells

Hi There,

I have a Cross tab and I tried to insert a row above and trying to merge the cells so that I can give a heading.I have gone through the previous posts on this but couldnt able to solve this.
Could anyone please provide me the steps how to achieve this.
I am using BO XI R3 SP3.

Thanks in advance

Create a dimension variable containing your title
Put it in the above row
Then put a break on that variable and tick the “center values…” in the break properties.

That should do the trick

Hi Bruno,

Thank you very much it did the trick.
But when I inserted the break the break appears and a new column got created at the end. and when I centered the values the required cells are centered and I tried to remove the extra column which I got from the break and now the above cell taking bit extra space comparing to the below columns.

Please have a look at the attachment for screen shots.
and please let me know I am i missing something.

Thanks
Dheepa

Try unticking “Display break foot” in the break properties :yesnod:

hello, this helped me a ton too. can I also ask what about header that i’ve created and written words in the cell. how can i merge them because i cant seem to add break on columns for “Reported data”

i am currently using SAP BusinessObjects BI Platform 4.3 Support Pack 3 Patch 4
Version : 14.3.3.4607.4

You need to create a dimension object called Reported Data and then create a break on it, rather than just using the words.

okie thanks so much, so am i right to say that there’s no way to merge it if its not a dimension object?

Unless it has changed since 4.1, not that I am aware of.
