CMC and Infoview will not launch - HTTP 404

I have a brand new install of Edge 3.1 on a Windows 2008 R2 Server. Install went very smoothly, new deployment of Tomcat, connected with 32 bit SQL Server drivers, etc

However, when I try to launch the CMC or Infoview from the server after the install, i am getting the http 404 error: /CmcApp/ is not available.

I am able to connect to Tomcat with http://server:8080/ and I can launch the servelt-examples app. I am also able to run othr BO programs such as Designer, Deski, etc.

Only thing not working is CMC and Infoview.

Any one else run into this?

Have you checked the log files?
404 is pretty generic so it could be anything from java memory to a bad deployment.
If you don’t know how to redeploy war files or dig around in the tomcat logs etc, then best just run the install again and use the REPAIR option.

I got thru the issue but I am not sure why it was a problem i the first place. During the original install of Edge 3.1, the install directory was C:/Program Files/Business Objects.

I re-installed to the C:/Program Files (x86)/Business Objects/ directory and everything seemed to be fine. Not really sure what the major difference is but everything is working fine now.

Might be because the BusinessObjects application is 32 bit. And installing it in
C:/Program Files (x86) solved the issue.

Why would it matter what the name of the install directory is?

I was not sure…so I wrote Might be . Could not find the exact thread… However you can check this where they mention to install BO on non-default location.

So my understanding is - C:/Program Files (x86) is non-default where as C:/Program Files will be default location in case of using 64-bit server.
Again, its just what I think. Please do correct me if I am wrong.
