I’m not able to access repository from designer (designer on my PC). But i’m able to login to infoview and refresh the reports.
The error i’m getting is
'Cannot access repository (USR0013)'.
Error Details:-
[repo_proxy 13] SessionFacade::openSessionLogon with user info has failed(Transport error: Communication failure.(FWM 00001)

I searched BOB for silimar issue and as per the posts i tried adding the server name and IP in the wondows host file. Still it didn’t work. The BO server is in Single Sign On (SSO).
It looks that your PC can’t communicate with the BO system database. This can happen for instance when the BO system database is behind the firewall. In such case few ports need to be open for you.
Thanks for the response. The firewall you meant is the firewall at Server side right?
Still confused…!!!
I’m connecting to the port 6320 on BO server. From another system using my user id/password designer is able to connect. In that case will it be an issue at the firewall in BO Server side.
From another system Designer is working fine. That means the firewall in BO Server is not blocking communication to repository and the port number 6320 is accessible.
As I said, it can be the firewall but it can be also something else.
If it is the firewall issue then it’s possible that the mentioned port was opened on the server side only for that other PC and not for yours. Check it with the server admins and/or network guys.
Please try the suggestion from SAP forum.
[i]
Make the Client Machine able to resolve the Server machine in a FQDN format (Fully Qualified Domain Name)
Alternatively, on the clients machine, browse to c:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc folder
open hosts files. Add an entry of the server machine in the following format
I have raised support with BO admn and n/w guys one week back.
i’m requesting BO admn team to check the below steps.
Firewall at BO server side
This i got from BOB post.
KBase Article ID:c2018301
Article refers to:BusinessObjects Enterprise XI
Symptom
Connecting from the Designer to a multihomed BusinessObjects Enterprise XI server results in an error message appearing:
"Transport Error: Communication failure"
Why does this error message appear and how do you resolve it?
Resolution
To resolve the error, change the binding order of the network interface cards (NICs) on the Enterprise XI server as follows:
1. Go to Start > Setting > Network and Dial up connections > Advanced > Advanced Setting.
2. Change the order of the defined NICs. Click the NIC used by the Central Management Server and then click the Up arrow button to increase the priority of that NIC so it is accessed before the other NIC.
