Designer Opening Issue

Hi,

I am trying to open designer and logging with admin id but it is giving below error -
[repo_proxy 13] SessionFacade::openSessionLogon with user info has failed(Transport error: Communication failure.(FWM 00001)
(hr=#0x80042a01)

And the same is working fine with infoview. Could someone please guide me what is wrong here?

Hi Aniket,

Is it only happening on your system or with everyone?

This usually happens when there is a firewall/port issue.

Can you check these posts:

Link 1: what this error means please? how to resolve?

Link 2: error in reaching repository.

Link 3: cannot access repository (USR0013) - from Designer

Let us know !

I am using VPN and it is happening at off-shore means the people who have got client intsalled they are not able to open designer by any id & I tried changing the Network settings , but still it is not working.

I guess it has to do something with Firewall settings & I have raised a ticket to our support team and waiting to hear from them. Else I am not able to do anything from my side …

Thanks a lot for your response , and suggestion.

Once I receive some solution, I will share the same here.

Such errors do come when you access BO Applications through VPN, Citrix or VMware (and in most occasions, they require a Server side solution).

Keep us updated ! :+1:

People who are directly connecting to designer are able to open the universe, so is this port issue at our side or client side?

You would have some sort of (Client) network set up; I suspect there is a firewall/port issue there, it is usually at the Server side.

Contact your BO Support Team, they should be able to rectify the issue.

In case it is not specific to your system, it would be a problem for all VPN Connections, and should be identifiable.

Now it is working fine now.

I followed the below link-

There is a suggestion given by Ruune & I changed the port manually on CMC for CMS and it is working perfectly.

Host file was not updated, nor any registry entries were modified.

Go to CMC–> CMS --> Properties --> Uncheck Auto Assign Port & Assign it new port which is active and it works.
