Hi
We are trying to establish a connection to HiveServer2 from SAP BO IDT. But failed.
JDBC Derivers(middlewares in IDT) :
Apache Hadoop Hive 0.13 HiveServer2
Apache Hadoop Hive 0.14 HiveServer2
Apache Hadoop Hive 1.0 HiveServer2
error message “[Simba]HiveJDBCDriver Error initialized or created transport for authentication: null.”
However, when tried using ODBC connection it was successful.
Let us know the best way to get connected to HiveServer with ZooKeeper using JDBC.
Environment:
SAP BusinessObjects BI Platform 4.2 Support Pack 3 Patch 5 (Version: 14.2.3.2351)
Universe (UNX) IDT
RHLE: 6.7
Hive 1.2.1000.2.5.3.0-37 on Hortonworks 2.5.0
Server (host:port) lvsxxxx.net:2181
Service Directry Mode : ZoooKeepr
Help Much appreciated
Warm Regards
Amar

I was involved in connecting a 4.1 SP8 environment to Cloudera Impala - along the same sort of lines as Hadoop / Hive / Hortonworks etc. It was painful. That message is familiar, but I don’t have any details. I wrote an incomplete series of posts here:
BI4.1 SP6 on Redhat…and I’m interested to see if anyone has got connectivity working with either odbc or jdbc and Cloudera Impala.

If you are lucky you might get a clue out of that…but we gave up on JDBC and stuck with ODBC.
