XIR2 - Recurring Instance Info Macro

Author: Jim McGregor,

Author notes:

I would consider this macro to be highly specialized (not setup for Webi/Crystal), however I believe that the code has benefit as an example for you to use and adapt to meet your needs. Specifically, the examples of how to obtain the prompt info, event info and path info are useful.

  • Julien Bras - I used Julien’s code from the “BOXI UserList & Group Extraction” as a base for this macro.
  • jrennatc from the Tek-Tips forum - I used jrennatc’s code to get the recurring instances.

Platform: Microsoft Excel 2003 / XIR2 SP4

Version: 0.2

Rather than post the code verbatim, here is an overview of the logic:

1. Connect to the CMS (Thanks Julien!)
2. First Loop - Loop through all Deski reports.
2. Second Loop - Extract the list of recurring instances.
3. Third Loop - extract info on the prompt names and values and other miscellaneous attributes.

Many thanks for this tool.
Need to modify a little bit to get it work in my organization for BOXI2.

Currently trying to suit it to BOXI 3.1 as well.

This is great.

This is a great tool, it is really helpful to get the info.

I see one issue with it though, it is only pulling me 1000 records from the system. Is there a way to have it pull more than 1000 records ?

Any help and info appreciated.

Thanks again
