This error is being produced in a win2003 server, running BOXi 3.1 with fp1.5. The error is seen on any report that uses a txt file as a data supplier. These reportswere previously running fine, and stranger still it works fine with xls files ?
Thanks Chaps
The ‘fix’ on the MS site reads;
This problem occurs if both of the following conditions are true:
The DisabledExtensions value in the following registry subkey
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Jet\4.0\Engines\Text
contains an extension that is five or more characters long.
For example, abcde causes the problem if the registry value is the following:
!txt,csv,tab,asc,htm,html,abcde
Microsoft Jet 4.0 Service Pack 3 (SP3) or Service Pack 4 (SP4) is installed, or you are running Microsoft Windows 2000.But this doesn’t help
Also check the Extentions entry within the “HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Jet\4.0\Engines\Text” subkey.
I had a similar problem with Deski Client (XI 3.1) and found some weird entry in the Extentions key: “txt,csv,tab,asc,10.txt,08.11.txt”. I had removed “strange” extensions from that list: “txt,csv,tab,asc” and Deski works fine again.
