We are going in for a BO XI R2 to BO XI 3.1 upgrade. We have a large number of Web Intelligence (above 10000) in our deploement. Now, we need to test these reports after the upgrade. But obviously, we will not be able to test each and every one of these reports due to the huge effort that it would involve. I have few questions in this regard.
(1) What are the different issues that we can encounter when web intelligence reports are upgraded from BO XI R2 to BO XI 3.1?
(2) Since it is not possible to test each and every upgraded web intelligence report, what percentage of reports (of these 10000 reports) do you think should be tested so that we can be rest assured that the WebI report upgrade has gone through fine?
(3) Important question from my perspective please : If we go in for testing a partial percentage of upgraded web intelligence reports, what would be the intelligent criteria to pick up these reports for testing? We can always go in for randomly picking some of the reports for testing, but that would not be helpful to pickup a representative set of reports keeping in view of the likely issues to be encountered in the upgrade.
Any pointers or suggestions in this regard would be of great help please (mainly from those who have carried out XI R2 to XI 3.x upgrade).
