My folder have 25 reports i need to scheduled the reports at a time is the their any possible at a time
Let me know i need to run 25 reprots at 10.30AM weekly or daily.
at single click how do i scheduled the reports.
Iam useng BO XI R2 CMC. XI schedulear
I need to figure out the same thing. I created an object package in the CMC but I cannot figure out how to copy the reports (webi and deski) into it. I see that you can do it with Crystal Reports (we don’t use). I can’t seem to copy my reports in it.
To add objects to an object package
1 Go to the first page of the Objects management area of the CMC.
2 Select the check boxes associated with each object you want to place in
the object package.
3 Click Copy/Move/Shortcut.
4 Select Copy to.
Note: You cannot create or move objects into an object package.
5 Select the folder or subfolder of the object package as the destination. Note that object packages are listed as [name], note the square brackets!
6 Select the object package, and click OK.
I suppose with “WebI”, you mean InfoView. Dont forget: Webi is just an application that runs within InfoView, which allows you to view/create/edit WebI documents.
All reports in a package run with their own settings, ie. if you have 2 reports in the package, and one is to ran in PDF format and send by e-mail and the 2nd is ran in DeskI format in its ‘default’ location, then both will run with these settings. You will find the instances under the original report-object folder where you stored the two reports.
Does it mean that if I schedule multiple reprots (All reports are webi) using scheduler (Daily, Weekly and Monthly) as group, I won’t be able to post them back to the Folder?
What I am looking for is, when I schedule Daily Reprots as Object Pacakge then I want to publish them back into the Folder where user will have access to the instance of the scheduled reports?
ok, lets take the object package out of the picture - when you schedule any of your reports, does the end user have access to the instance?
If so, then scheduling using the object package will have the same result, only now you can batch-schedule multiple reports in one go, each report with their own individual settings.
When I ran the individually, it refreshes but when I try to schedule the same report via Object package it fails with below error msg. ( tried with single report) no luck…
You are saying that you “refresh” the report first and then “schedule” the package. That is not the same, can you make sure you have “scheduled” the report and also the package to make sure that the Webi Jobserver is handling both requests?
we can set diffrent format for Reports in one Object Package but can not set Diffrent Destination in same Object package?
for example i have 30 report in one package and i need to send 10 reports to one e-mail id
another 10 Reports to another e-mail id like this…
is it possible in Object Package???
I have a query with regard to Object Package.
I have created a Webi Report Sales and have saved in a subfolder Work. I have also created a Object Package Test. I have then added Sales report to Test Object Package as per instruction mentoioned in the post. I have then scheduled to refresh the Object Package every day at 6AM.
When I logon to Infoview, I can now see a new Object with a name Test of Type Object Package appearing in my Favourites Folder.
The scheduler refreshes the Object Package every day and creates a new instance of the Object. I can check this when I logon to Infoview and click on the History of Test (OF - Object Folder), also when I click on the link of Test-OF I can see report Sales refreshed but the original report sitting
in Work Subfolder is not refreshed.
My requirement is to use Object Folder to schedule Daily reports but the refreshed reports should be updated at it original Location (Folders/Categories).
Actually, if you are on version 11.5.7.608, then you are on BO XI R2 with SP1 and Monthly Hotfix 1.
But back to your question: when you created a link to your webi report in the package you may remember that you clicked on ‘copy’. This means that the report in your WORK folder is no longer the same one as in your package. It’s a copy. So you cannot see the history of the scheduled object package using the original report.
That’s just like you cant create a copy of a report, schedule one of the reports and expect to see the history under both reports. They are now 2 different objects.
Thanks for the useful input you have provided regarding Object Packages.
From this thread, I understand that objects inside a package are copies of the original objects. And hence, when you schedule a package, only the objects inside the package are refreshed and we will not get an instance under the original folder and report name.
However, I would like to know if there is a way you can create a batch of shortcuts to the objects that you desire to run on a schedule. And when you run this batch object package, all the original reports in their respective folders get refreshed and the ‘view latest instance’ link points to the most recent instance that was run using the object package.
We use the 3rd-Party APOS InfoScheduler and Instance Manager tools to manage our “batch” scheduling requirements in the various Top-Level folders in BOE-XI (R2).
We only use OBJECT PACKAGES to send out multiple PDFs attachments in a single e-mail, with the APOS Report Package Booster.
In BOE-XI (R-3.1), I think this can be done with PUBLICATIONS…but we haven’t tested that in our SANDBOX yet.
