XI 3.1 User Sessions do not timeout

Hello, I was wondering if anyone else had a problem with user sessions hanging around. We have SSO enabled for Infoview users so naturally they don’t think about Logging out of Infoview, they just close their browser. Problem is their sessions hang around and eventually a single user will show multiple connections.

I can find any settings in the CMC to change. Is this a Tomcat config? Is there a way I can have idle sessions drop after so long. Currently, I boune the CMS services twice a week to clear dead sessions.

In BOXI relase 2, once you logged in Infoview>preferences>general tab, There is “When I close my browser window…” with there differents options:
always ask before logging me off InfoView
always log me off InfoView
never log me off InfoView

This is now missing from BOXI 3.1, Has anyone seen this option somewhere else in BOXI 3.1?

Have you found the solution??

Have definately had this problem and have had tickets with SAP about it.

I was told that the “always log me off” option was removed because of issues with IE7. So it no longer exists.

The best you can do is open the configuration files and change the timeout settings to make them shorter. You are best searching for the tickets. There are quite a lot of settings. We changed at least 8-10.

Be aware that the Timeout applies to activity. If you set it too low your developers will be upset about saving every 5 minutes or losing their work. If you set it too high you will have lots of sessions on the CMS.

Thanks for the reply Weaver. I’ll go look at some of the other tickets out there.

Hi Skeeter,

Out of curiosity, was modifying your config files the final answer for you? We are in the same situation here.

Thanks,
