XI 3.1 SP2 - JRE Version

Which version of JRE is supported for WebI XI 3.1 SP2?
Where do i get this information? Does SAP have any compatibility/incompatibility document?

I need to make sure that I am running the right Java version as I am getting Java heap space error and my reports are hanging for ever.

Thanks!!

The Supported Platforms document is available on the SAP web site under “Help and Support” > SAP BusinessObjects Support.

You will need a login ID for the site though. You can get one from SAP if you have a current support contract.

I just checked the SAP Web Site and found the documentation for the supported JVM. It states for IE 7 1.6.0_02+ and for IE 8 Sun 1.6.0_xx. I know for a fact that 1.6.0_20 doesn’t work. I think BO needs to be a little more specific in their documentation. I also could not find a concrete answer on their SAP Forums.

Anyone have an answer on the latest support JVM for BO XI3.1 SP2 FP2.5?

We are on 1.6.0_3 since last few month. We are going to test 1.6.0_18 shortly.

The Supported platforms documentation states

IE 6.0 SP2 Sun 1.5.0_xx
Sun 1.6.0_02+
IE 7.0 Sun 1.5.0_xx
Sun 1.6.0_02+
IE 8.0 Sun 1.5.0_xx
Sun 1.6.0_xx

However when a user tries to access the Query Panel it insists on installing 1.6.0.3 ???

adrian.rutter,

their documentation is not up to date. 1.6.0_3, 1.6.0_11, and 1.6.0_13 work I am not sure with higher versions. I do know we have had some issues 1.6.0_19.

We are on the same BO version, and it seems to work fine up to Java version 1.6.0_17 (update 17) but we have issues with later versions.

Thanks
