XI 3.1 Renamed Universe Name Change Not Reflected In Webi

Hi,

I renamed a universe I didnt change the universe file name though. Now when login to Webi and edit saved reports built off the universe before I changed the name, it still shows the old universe name at the top of the data tab.

I checked in the CMC and there is only 1 copy of the universe and that has the correct name. I imported the universe with the new name and added a new object and then exported then checked a saved report again and when i edited the report and look at the universe I can see the new objects I added but its still showing the old name. If I go and build a brand new report in Webi the universe name is the new universe.

For some reason Webi doesnt pick up the new universe name change if the report was built and saved when it had the old universe name is this a bug or am I doing something wrong ?

The dataprovider name is arbitrary - you can change that in a report to something besides the universe name even. BO picked it up from the universe at report creation, but it does not change for you later…

If your new reports pick up the right name, I would not worry about it - maybe let your users know that this is a knod to the universe name at the time of report creation and declare victory.

Thanks Brent :+1: I don’t think I was clear though on what the problem is, in this case its not the dataprovider name which I know you can change but its the universe name, so if you go Properties tab and look under ‘Universe’ it still has the old name :crazy_face:

The only work around I found was to point the report at another universe that had no objects at all of the same name, it then says it cant change it to this universe because of that and then as if back majic it switches back to the old universe but displays the correct name this time.
