Xceslius 2008 connectivity With WebI Reports

Hi,

Could some one give me idea whether it is possible to connect 2008 to webi reports directly ?

Also today I have installed Xcelsius Engage Server 2008 trial version , so is there any specific document available for this version ? If yes - Can some one pass on the link from where I can download it…? Thanks in Advance.

Only by using Live Office :).

Thanks Mak for your prompt response. I thought it will do directly, so I downloaded it as I found Xcelsius 4.5 bit complex to integrate with QaaWS. Is live office a free ware or it’s a licensed software ?.. I know I should search , but I would appreciate if I just get to know from you whether I need to purchase it or it is free?

Its part of Business Objects product range, so yes you need a license.

Now I will try to search some videos and try to understand 2008. Once again thanks a lot.

Edit - Actually Mak, I was seeing the below video and in that it is connecting directly to webi report, so the question came to my mind.

After your response I thought it’s a Live office. Do you have any idea what kind of third party tool they are using ?.. I guess NO else you would have helped …

Aniket, come on put some elbow grease to it and do not expect us to do all your research, Obviously, the link is from a 3rd party vendor, so you will have to purchase that separately as it is not part of any product sold/manufacured directly by SAP/BusinessObject.

Just so you know (depending on your enviornment) the release of BOE 3.1 SP2 now has a new “BI Services” capability within the Webi Rich Client tool that allows publishing of webi content via web services - similar to Live Office. We making use of these and connecting our models directly to webi reports.

Andreas , thanks for your response. I apologizes for my expectations. Actually I am very new to Xcelsius , so I am not sure I am going to the right path , that’s why I take help from you guys who already had worked on Xcelsius. With your help, I do research and try to implement what is feasible.

For an eg.: Right now I am having Xcelsius 4.5 and QaaWS, so I am trying to automate all dashboads and struggling with this since 10 days. But haven’t got any success. But I really appreciate help which I am getting from all. Also I do try to search from my side , but still I will try more from my side. Once again thanks for your help.
