Xcelsius -- how to configure data connections

Hi everyone.

I’ve finally configured a dashboard correctly, and now they’ve decided that they want to have it available on mobile.

That means that I have to learn how to use some other type of data connection that is not XML. Is there anyone here with the knowledge/experience to configure a data connection to pull data from SAP B1 that’s not an XML connection?

EDIT: I found this page https://help.sap.com/saphelp_sbo900/helpdata/en/5b/a5c105d175441b82c19d0b9af03302/content.htm which linked me to a document on the SAP Partners Portal that says “Dashboards in SAP Business One, version for SAP HANA use only XML data connections.”

While I’m not using SAP version for HANA, I feel like it would follow that SAP Vanilla would have a similar restriction.

Interesting. I was under the impression for a mobile dashboard (Dashboard Design) that the only allowed data connection was a universe (UNX). We probably will not create any mobile dashboards with Dashboard Design, instead (if and when) we do a mobile dashboard it will be with Design Studio.

I can’t find a way to have an XML connection at all with Dashboard Design - confirmed by our support contract people. From playing around with it, it seems to be UNX or nothing.

But then I have no idea what SAP Business One is. It sounds like some kind of cut-down hybrid thingy…

Other connections? I’ve created a UNX connection in Dashboard Design. In Xcelsius/ SAP Business Objects Dashboards, I’ve got an XML map connection and I might have done a QAAWS once, but I doubt I could reproduce it!

I’m too busy learning SSIS/SSRS these days … :blue:

Business One is like the small business version of SAP. But it appears that the only way that we can import dashboard packages to B1 is to use XML connections, which don’t work (probably) with mobile.
