I’m new to both Xcelsius and Lumira though I’ve seen demo’s and had a brief play with the trial versions.
What I’m struggling with though is to understand is at a broad level what the difference is between the two products in terms of target user ? Is if fair to say Lumira is more for the user who wants to build there own reports / dashboard vs Xcelsius (Dashboards) which is more for a consumer who doesnt want to build anything but just view them and interact with them ?
In a nutshell, Lumira is more of a self-service tool for the business users to build their visualization with very little technical knowledge. On the other hand, Xcelsius requires technical skill. It is typically used by IT developers or some knowledgeable power users.
With that being said, you cannot publish a Lumira visualization directly to BI Launchpad without involving another tool (e.g. BO Explorer) at this time. If you are not a HANA-shop, your options are limited with Lumira.
