Xcelsius 2008 - missing periods on Graph

Hi Experts,

I am having a vlookup nightmare ha
In order to populate a line chart that will show 3 Financial Years by Month,
I have chosen to use 3x series (for each year) which then comprise of a cell range of 12 (each month).

The issue I am having is the dataset, example below

Year Month Area Repair Volumes
2013 2 X 120
2013 4 X 78
etc…

Now the issue with the data set is that no all areas had a repair volume
for every period, this is fine as I can do a Vlookup to set these to zero,
however as I am showing a Year to date year the remainder of the year needs to be removed from the graph. How Can I show the missing rows as zero but remove the future periods from the graph?

I am sorry this is hard to articulate and appreciate this is not really an Xcelsius issue but there must be a best practice for such a task?
I’d prefer to get away from complex vlookups and IF statements if at all possible ??

Thanks for taking the time to read this
thanks in advance…

Will

Hi Will, as it is a design question you could get a faster reply if you attach a file with data.

You’ve accounted for zeros in the middle. Will the graph component itself not hide the zeros at the end if you check the relevant box?
