Working Offline on Xcelsius

Hi Experts ,

I have created a dashboard which picks the data from the Qaaws Query . I have exported my dashboard in to PDF file and then I saved my PDF. Now my CMS server is down . But i want to see the data in the dashboard . I mean i want to work on the PDF offline .

Exporting dashboard to pdf will not take data in to it . Please correct me if I am wrong? . I want to mail dashboard in PDF form to cusotmer Blackberry mobiles.

Thank you .

Regards,
Dirasa

if you have set refresh options as on load… then you should have no problem in checking the pdf file offline.

Hello,

I disagree with Jeswin. I believe that whatever the option you choose, if you have your dashboard with qaaws, you will not be able to see the data in offline mode.
If anyone has a workaround for this or if I am wrong, could someone post an example of how to do it?

I have one solution but not with qaaws, I am using XML Data to achieve this requirement.

With my best regards,

I agree with rjac… QAAWS has this problem. you can use webi/crystal reports and Live office, you will be able to acheive this.

Hello All,

SO just wanted to confirm that unless your data source is XML …using QAAWS you can’t refresh your web services in .PDF or PPT…correct ?

Live office would be other approach but if using QAAWS … you can’t refresh your web services in .PDF or PPT ??

I am using BOXI 3.1 SP2 on client and BOXI R2 SP5 on enterprise.

Thanks,

Sam

Hello Sam,

Not correct!

Using QAAWS you can refresh your web services in pdf or ppt, as long as the connections are available.

What we are discussing here is that if the connections are not available you will not be able neither to refresh your web services (naturally) nor acess to the last time refreshed data in the dashboard.

Hello Rjac,

I see … so what you are suggesting is that if say you are within your corporate environment and have access to web services URL then you can invoke them and retrieve data but if you are outside that domain …say at home and do not have access to those web services then you will not be able to refresh ( invoke web services ) …correct ?

I actually did try this before I posted the question but for reasons , I was getting Error # 2170 …cross-doamin policy error. Now …with server I could modify cross-domainpolicy.xml in the APP…but what do I modify on my desktop ?? That prompted me with this questions…what am I missing here ?

Thanks in advance,
Sam

correct!

I am certainly not the person to answer to those questions however, I have seen in the forum some discussions about cross-domain issues. Try to search in other sub-foruns about this issue rather than in this sub-forum. Problably in XI Server Discussion or others.

Best regards,
