Wistorage folder in a share drive and the BO performance

Hi

I am using BO 5.1.9 and my wistorage folder in located in a share drive. Could you please explain me when you refresh a report by my infoview how is the work folw related with wistorage? We have a proposal that if we move this wistorage folder in a powerful server the refresh time of the report will be faster and it will increase the performance.

Please explain me is this true?

Shifting to a fast storage server will only help if the volume or reports in the wistorage is high this is relative.
But the simplest way to know if the wistorage is actually cauzing a bottellneck is to find the time difference between the time taken to open a document

  1. normal working conditions
  2. deleting just the document from the wistorage
  3. Flushing the storage and opening the document for the second time.

Could you please explain me what is the role of Wistorage folder when you are refreshing a infoview report?
