WIS 10901 error

Hi Bober’s,
BO XI 3.1, SQL Server 2005

I am trying to create a new report WEBI. I just selected one Object & clicked Run Query. I am getting this below stated error.

Query 1 - FIN - Accounts Payable
A database error occurred. The database error text is: [Microsoft] [ODBC SQL Server Driver][SQL Server]Statement(s) could not be prepared… (WIS 10901)

Then I logged into Rich Client and did the same process create the report based on the Univ., now its give msg.
No Data to Retrieve.

I checked the table data in DB, its empty.

I also tested the connection in Universe designer, it is responding.

My question is why is Webi throwing WIS 10901 error while Rich Client can run the query and give No Data to Retrieve message?

by the field code: {error_db}.

Refresh the universe structure and export the universe and try again.

Assumptions:

  1. The connection parameters point the same environment (dev/unit/prod)
  2. There is a updated/new coulmn in the database after the universe is in the repository.
  3. There is no valid link between server and the databse.
  4. The report are based on non-production database and the server is in production database (vice-versa) and the prot is not open for this interaction based on your company policy

I had the same problem.

I have created File DSN instead of User DSN. It worked for WebI as well as DeskI.
