I am seeing this same issue. My WIReportServer.exe is hogging CPU. I see tons of posts on BOB about memory being sucked up by the Webi Report server, but I could only find this topic on it hogging CPU.
I have 2 servers in my cluster and I set the adaptive processing server to only run 1 job each. I look in the Task Manager on the server after I kick off several Webi reports and the CPU gets maxed at 100%. It only does this on some reports though - not all of them. All these reports use the same universe too. I cannot figure it out.
Does anyone know how to throttle the CPU usage for the WIReport server? And has anyone else seen this issue? I cannot figure out why it needs to process that much just to run a query against database - this doesn’t make sense to me.
I’m on XIR3.1 FP1.8 with Oracle CMS on Windows 2003 server.
We definately see this behaviour too. It seems to get ‘stuck’ sometimes and just churn away using a heap of CPU. We have some monitoring and when we see this behaviour just kill the instance of WIReportServer.exe
I am also getting this on XIR3 SP2. Can anyone out there help on this one? The annoying thing is that the cpu maxes out when nobody is ocnnected to the server.
