Great! there is one at least… normally I started a “what to do in “X” while attending the Annual Conference” it got reasonable traffic. I cant seem to find people going this year…

LANFIELD :us: (BOB member since 2006-05-18)

Well, we have several attending from Claraview. I much prefer this over Orlando. The weather should be much nicer.

MichaelWelter :vatican_city: (BOB member since 2002-08-08)

I am from Los Angeles area but more northern. So I wont know Anaheim well but better then those from out of state.

LANFIELD :us: (BOB member since 2006-05-18)

Yeah, I’m familiar with Simi Valley. I live in Rancho Cucamonga. I’ve spent a lot of time in OC over the years. The conference is about 30 or 40 miles from my house.

This is the opening weekend of the NFL. anyone going anywhere to watch the games? does the Hilton have a decent facility for this or should we head to downtown Disney and the ESPN Zone?

LANFIELD :us: (BOB member since 2006-05-18)

Downtown Disney would probably be your best bet. The Hilton doesn’t have a descent sports bar.

MichaelWelter :vatican_city: (BOB member since 2002-08-08)

do you know if there is some sort of free shuttle?

LANFIELD :us: (BOB member since 2006-05-18)

Not needed. The Hilton sits on the parking lot of the Convention Center, and across the street is Disneyland, Disney’s California Adventure, and Downtown Disney. However, I believe that Disney has a trolly that runs between their property and all the local hotels, including the Hilton. I’ve seen it in front of the Hilton many times.

that’s got my name all over it… I could walk as well I suppose…

LANFIELD :us: (BOB member since 2006-05-18)

The walk is maybe 2 or 3 blocks, so it’s not too bad at all. And, of course, the weather is always nice here in So. Cal. 8)

MichaelWelter :vatican_city: (BOB member since 2002-08-08)

has anyone been planning a Disney trip? if so any info?

I will actually be back there in April of 2015 for the Star Wars Convention…

LANFIELD :us: (BOB member since 2006-05-18)

Well im scanning the area for places to not drive a car to where I can watch my RAMS game on Sunday. I know I can always go to ESPN Zone but was hoping for something with less traffic.

LANFIELD :us: (BOB member since 2006-05-18)

You not likely to find a place that isn’t crowded within walking or shuttle distance. It’s a highly active area.

MichaelWelter :vatican_city: (BOB member since 2002-08-08)

So I am down to ESPN Zone or Bar Louie on Katella :?: I also just looked at the down town Disney sight and saw that they have an Earl of Sandwich… those are good sandwiches…

LANFIELD :us: (BOB member since 2006-05-18)

I’ve not heard of Bar Louie. My guess is that Bar Louie would be much less crowded than ESPN zone.

That’s a photo… its .6 miles walking from the Hilton.

its part of this other center http://www.anaheimgardenwalk.com/dining/index.php?gid=13&rid=136

instead of turning left on Katella to go to Down Town Disney (DTD) turn right…

LANFIELD :us: (BOB member since 2006-05-18)

OK, I see where it is. Half way between the convention center and the 5 freeway. That’s an easy walk.

MichaelWelter :vatican_city: (BOB member since 2002-08-08)

yeah not too bad… read some reviews and food was said to be good. service was a question but not if you sat at the bar.
