Load balancing refers to the way BO routes processes to the servers in the cluster using Corba.
If you are going to implement an outside load balancing method, then you set up multiple WebI cluster managers and no cluster nodes. Then you will implement a shared storage method.
This is very clearly documented in the BO Deployment Guide.

Well Steve sir
It is actually not.
It talks only about Cisco Load balancer
What about L5?
and also Is there any significance gain in performance with that?

The concepts are the same, it doesn’t matter which one is actually listed. BusinessObjects isn’t going to document every hardware product that is available.
What Steve said was correct; you generally have two options. You can let Webi manage the cluster and do the load balancing, using the algorithms documented in the manuals, or you can use a hardware solution. Anything done with hardware is essentially outside the scope of the BusinessObjects manuals. You should get the hardware vendor to provide some information.

I appreciate that you donot expect BO to document all the Load balancers, but I placed this problem here because I thought this forum answers what BO guys cannot.
If case is otherwise I would do look for other options.
The point was If really somebody has doe this before I would like to expect some detailed information on same.
I am doing this on win2000 and not on UNIX box.

Understood.
I’ve not used that particular load balancer at any of our clients, so I can’t comment. Perhaps someone else will, as you suggest. Good luck!

Has anyone successfully used F5 (3DNS/Big-IP) for load-balancing WebI/ZABO??
Thanks!
