What could be the best approach

Hi Guys,

Please help me in suggesting the good practice to my customer.

Now I need to provide BO solution on top of SAP BW using Business objectts 4.0 and sp05. I am not sure what exactly I can suggest among these three options.

1 . Creating Unvierses on top of Bex queries and build the reports which is very classical approach. I think the risk is very less and time consumption is also very less.

  1. Using BICS connectivity , creating reports on Bex query. this is also simple but we may face issues with # unavaibale error whilst doing the report level aggregations.
  2. Using IDT, creating Universes(.unx) based on multiproviders and buidling the reports.

I know my question is very open and not gving much on my business requirements (one thing, we have most of the reports are standard and daily using reports)but could you guys help me which is solution is suggestable in which scenario.

Query on Bex (transient providers) as i know doesn’t support drill’pathes.

If we go for that option, how can we overcome the #unavailable error if users want to develop their own reports . This is only my concern to go with BICS functionality.
