In navigating the forum I came across some threads that mentioned entitlements, entitlement tables, etc. However, I couldn’t find any online material that defined what entitlements are or how they are used in BO Universe design.
From what I saw from the various threads is that entitlements are dealt with security/access issues. Can someone better explain to me what entitlements are? Are they a BO concept or DB concept?
Yes, it is related to Security/access. Please check this article for understanding - what is Security Entitlement system.
There are security entitlement databases such as SAP, LDAP, and Windows NT/Active Directory. BusinessObjects supports these Entitlements and use the information to control user access rights.
Note - There are few other Entitlement systems as well - such as Oracle Entitlement server and I don’t think BO support this. I am not very sure so please check with their support.

Does anyone have experience with having multiple entitlements in a BOE environment. We are running XI 3.2 and my security admin is telling me having multiple entitlements does not seem to work.
Reading through the Integration Kit documentation it seems to me this should not be a problem. So we are trying to find out if anyone else has done this and were there any challenges to getting this to work.
