Will BOB ( :mrgreen: )build extra categories for BI 4.x Webi, Universe, etc…?
Since the Launches are already virtual on track bob should be prepared :wink:

By the way, someone told me that he sees no big advantages in BI 4.0 - well there is SAP Integration integrated; and we have this multiversum… ok - but for classic BO-Users - finally no Deski - so rather LESS then MORE or NEW things in BI 4.0? What do you think?

We’ll be adding topic tags, so folks can set up the version. We’ve been slowly moving away from version-specific forums, and allowing folks to tag their topics by version instead.

Ah, good idea these topic tags, since each version has it’s new features, I assume BI 4.0 will not be a big thing - BI 4.1 maybe…

  • Harmonized GUI for Crystal and Webi, finally.
  • Crystal making better use of universes or the new semantical layer.
  • New chart engine in Webi, which is the same chart engine as in Crystal (CVOM).
  • New chart types such as heat maps in Webi
  • Major advancement with the semantical layer (project based work, data federator capabilities, real hierarchies, etc. etc.)
    …

In my humble opinion, the biggest advantage of BI 4.x over XI 3.x are the totally redesigned Information Design Tool and the ability to report off an MDX cube using WebI.

I expect a lot of the new webi, the demo I saw was impressive (better GUI then deskI), but ofcourse it’s a demo.
