Weighted Contribution in Match

Hi there!

I was hoping someone could help on the match transform. I am trying to get data services to return a low match score (say 50%) when 2 telephones numbers match 100%.

The reason for this is that I would like to do the same for email, then name, then address all with equal contributions.

The setting I use are:
BREAK KEY = FIRST NAME
MATECH CRITERIA = TELEPHONE
MATCH SCORE = 101 (to make it the match not the only criteria)
NO MATCH SCORE =-1 (to make the match not the only criteria)
WEIGHTED CONTRIBUTION = 50
USE IN WEIGHTED SCORE IF MATCH > = 50
EXCLUDE FROM CONTRIBUTION IF MATCH < 50

This way I am pretty sure I am saying if the match is 100% then contribute 50 to the overall score. So where in the data the telephone is 100% I should get a match score of 50.

However, it returns 100 rather than 50!

I am a bit stuck, if some one could help that would be amazing! Thanks!

Hi Greg ,

Weighted score calculation based on contribution of the field. If you give the contribution for the telephone number 50% and remaining fields 50% it should calculate the similarity score based on the contribution only .

Please share me your sample input records and contributions .

What is similarity score in match transform?
Will it be internally generated? or do we need to enable that in match transform settings?

Hi Durai,

Similarity score will be generated internally. We don’t have any control on similarity score.
