WebIntelligence OLAP Report Panel and Oracle OLAP Cubes

Hi All,

I am trying to find more information on WebIntelligence OLAP Report Panel and Oracle OLAP cubes.

It appears that Oracle Express Cubes are not supported by the WebIntelligence OLAP Report Panel. Also it appears the WebIntelligence OLAP Report Panel is only supported on windows…

Can anyone confirm?

The Oracle Express access pack is supported for 6.5 on Unix and Windows NT.
There is a doc on techsupport detailing the how to’s.

I didn’t see any mention in the PAR, but read the doc in the Documentation link i.e. I’m going on the assumption that if theyhave a manual, then it must work lol.

call me crazy, but isn’t this the OLAP Oracle access pack for full client, not WEBI Olap Report Panel?

Hmm, they generally seem to refer to MS or DB2, but I did find a ref in the Deployment guide on page 91.
If you ensure that Express connectivity is pre-installed, then according to page 421 - when you install BO / Server option then by selecting the Explorer option - WEBI Olap is installed - this module is not vendor specific!
BO also mentions SAS at this stage in the doc, and then refs it in the WEBI OLAP users guide, but then fail again to mention Express??

Sorry if I raised your hopes - have you tried installing it to see whatoptions you get when you select the OLAP type?
