Webi4.2 Not allowing values from one tab to be 'moved' to the main tab without summarizing them, even though the formula does not include SUM

I am a new Webi user. I am working on an existing report built before my time here. I am able to generate the individual values needed on separate tabs, but when I try to add the new values to the main tab, the main tab automatically changes the values to be the exact same for every row.

The main tab is a list of individual employees and the specific benefits and deductions that are made on their monthly payroll, so there is a large variety in the numbers (everyone shouldn’t have the exact same value for a specific column).

The separate tabs were built before my time. I checked the existing tabs to make sure I built my variable correctly and they all match the formula format in the picture.

I’d appreciate any ideas and wisdom you are willing to share.

are there any “merged” variables in this report (what I presume)?
if so, Webi does seemingly not recognize the right context
you could try with the function “forcemerge” in conjuction with the summing; but more likely so called context operators must be used for creating the right context
