WEBI with IIS 4.0

Hi,

I was wondering if anyone had any documentation for configuring WEBI with IIS 4.0. The interface for IIS 4.0 is different than the instructions in the WEBI installation manual. In manually configuring the HTTP server, where do you configure the directory structures to work with WEBI? Is there anything else to know about the installation process?

Uninstall and reinstall and select the first radio button to automatically configure with Microsoft. This screen has three options and it will self detect what you have installed.

The rough configuration is the same for all web servers, and is on page 65 of the System Administrator’s Guide, supplied on the CD. (Page 78 if you are using the Acrobat page finder.)

Unless you want specficially to have another type of authtication used, you must make sure that you have only “Anonymous” access permissions on the virtual directory that is create as /wi for access to WebIntelligence.

IIS4, when upgrading from IIS3, and by default, turns on “Windows NT Integrated Authentication”, previously known as “NT Challenge/Response”. This will mean that you cannot log in - you will get the dialog box asking you to type a name and password again and again, no matter what you type in (NT is taking your answer, and saying that you are not a valid NT user).

To add the WebIntelligence directory, in the IIS MMC control, just select the web site, and right-click to add the virtual directory there, and point it to the WebIntelligence/http-server directory. The access permissions can be checked by looking at the properties of the directory, then the “Directory Security”, then the “Edit…” button.
