Webi Report using Excel Spreadsheet source

I can create a Report using Excel spreadsheet as datasource via the DESKI view but am unable to create a report or locate where to pick the excel sheet source via the Infoview/Webi.

Any help/direction is appreciated

You could create a universe for the excel sheet and use this in your Webi queries…

  1. one option is which Mak gave, of creating a universe from excel.
  2. create a deski report from the excel and export it to repository and open it in webI, but with this u cant edit/modify it, only left is ‘view’ option.

One slight correction. Open it in Infoview. But I would suggest you to follow Mak 1’s suggestion, as Web-I is the future. :slight_smile:

Hiya

I did and get this error when I try to retrieve.

No server was available to process the request. Please try again later. (Error:RFC 00101) (Error:INF)

Any ideas

I think the reason you got the no server error was because you accessed the report through infoview and not webi itself. We have the same problem and it is because Infoview disconnects our sessions after 20 mins.
