I just got WebI II an wow has it improved since the first release! My company is about to make a decision on WebI for the sales force and I am trying to anticipate some of the questions they will want me to answer.
My question is this: Has anyone tried to do dynamic hyper links in the report and use the power of the web with the new release? We have IE 4.01 with version 4.13.
I am eager to hear from anyone with knowledge of the product.
Here are some hints we found during the beta program:
Use IE 4.01 SP1 (Service Pack 1) this contains the correct version of the JAVA virtual machine.
Before you use it with refreshing Business Objects client reports make sure you have more than 2 of the BUSOBJ.EXE (the client) running on the server. This eliminates many of the screen errors when trying to refresh these reports. Currently set at MIN of 8 and max of 16. This will change as you add users. The Minimum setting will depend on how much memory you have running on the server.
Change the time on the KEEP DOCUMENT OPEN setting under the REPORTSERVER in the admin tool. This prevents the report of being reloaded time after time.
The above two changes seem to be working better with refreshing of the client reports.
