If you are getting these errors when clicking on tabs of a full client report its due to a bug that has been reported to Business Objects and is being looked at by Paris. The report will run (sometimes) but when it gets displayed and you click on the offending tab you will get the above errors issued by GetHTML.
Cause: Tab has more than 27 characters (including spaces). This happens when using the HTML mode when viewing Business Objects full client reports. This has nothing to do with the title just the tabs.
WorkAround 1: Use IE or Netscape in the enhanced document mode. This will use the ActiveX viewer which doesn’t have the problem.
WorkAround 2: Fix the tabs to be less than OR equal to 27 characters and repost them to the repository.
Stay tuned, if they issue a CSP for this I will post the number so you can get it from support…

Tom,
This was apparently a known issue in BO 5.0. According to the BCA part of the Readme.htm file distributed on the CD :
Report in HTML format
A report cannot be displayed in HTML format when the name’s length is greater than 27 characters.
In this case, you get the BOManager error message: “Automation exception BusinessObjects server process raised an Automation exception (BOMGR0060) returned by function Get HTML element”.
As per our experience, the limitation is on report name rather than the tab name. For this reason, we had limited all report names to less than 27 characters.
Now, since we upgraded to BO 5.0.1, I dont see this as a known limitation in the
latest version. So, it seems that they might have fixed the problem in this release.
Though, I am not taking any chances.
They might have fixed the name in 5.01/2.51, but they have acknowledged that the error still exists for the tabs. I think in my previous note I stated the titles are not the problem just the tabs.
I had tested reports with NAMES longer than 27 characters with 5.01 prior to migration and everything worked fine.
Why would they have put that under the BCA readme vs the WebIntelligence section is beyond me.
Just don’t get wordy in the tabs and the system works better than 2.0…We have seen a 30% decrease in rendering of reports, and my users love the enhanced document mode…

Below is an article on how to change these options globally. This is only a workaround and since you have a large deployement, can take some time to accomplish.

How do I change the Applets and Technology Options for all users globally?
CONFIGURATION*
WebIntelligence version 2.x
****RESOLUTION
Launch Windows Explorer and locate the ‘Profile.txt’ file. It should be located for one of your users in the BusinessObjects 5.0 > Server > WebIntelligence 2.5 > Storage > Users > . 2. If there are no folders in the Users directory, log into WebIntelligence and change the Document List Options and apply the changes. This will generate the ‘Profile.txt’ file for the user. 3. Open the Profile.txt file using Notepad.exe or any text editor. 4. In this file there are two entries that correspond to the following options:
Business Objects Document Viewer = VIEW_SETTINGS in the profile.txt file
Standard HTML Format = H
Enhanced Document Format = X
Optimized for my Browser = B
WebIntelligence Document Editor = EDIT_SETTINGS in the profile.txt file
Full Java Applet = J
Light Java Applet = L
Active X Control = X
Optimized for my Browser = B
Example.
If the option for Business Objects Document Viewer = Standard HTML Format then the VIEW_SETTINGS = H in the profile.txt file.
Make the appropriate changes to this file and save it. 6. Now you can copy this ‘Profile.txt’ file and copy for each user’s directory in Windows Explorer or create folders in the Users directory for each username and copy this file into it.
Now if you want to disable this option for your users to edit follow the steps listed below.
Launch the Supervisor Module
Locate the user group or users that you want to disable and click on them.
Now Right-Click on the WebIntelligence Module and select Properties 4. Locate the options group and the select the ‘Change Viewing and Editing Technologies’ and disable or hide this option.
We still experience the BOMGR0070 error when a report tab has more than 27 characters and the Business Objects viewer option (Applets and Technology Section) are set to HTML or Optimized for my browser. We’re using Netscape Communicator 4.51 and WebIntelligence 2.51.

That is where the problem lies. Check the tabs and make sure they are less than or equal to 27 characters. The report titles are not effected just the tabs.
To work around this set the options to use the activex viewer, but it still causes a problem with Netscape as the plugin doesn’t down load cleanly. I am still trying to figure this one out to see if its just a PC configuration problem or an actual bug.
Otherwise use IE. This really clears the problem since the optimize for browser automatically uses the acitvex viewer.
