Web Intelligence Processing Server

Hello,

I am working with BO XI 3.1 (on Linux environment) and I am facing couple of issues.

1. Whenever I try to refresh a report in Infoview, I am getting an error “Could not initialize Engine server (Error: RWI 00206) (Error: INF)”.

2. My “WebIntelligenceProcessingServer” is entering in Stop state and if I try to start/restart/stop-start then it enters in FAILED state. I am not able to figure out why this is happening.

Plus I strongly believe #1 happening due to #2.

Can anybody help me out here. Atleast with how can I figure out why the server is failing.

Our 3.1 webi documents sperodically, will be “stuck” in the “Opening Document” stage. It almost appears like the webi processing servers stop accepting requests. Memory usage looks fine on the processes. I do see the CMS is throwing events in the event viewer and flagging our processing servers as unresponsive and shutting them down automatically. add ‘-trace’ to webi report server properties and check the trace log.

Try using { Administrative Tools >> Services } to restart your WebI server.
If you have other BO installation within the same CPU, disable all services of that other installation.

Hi,

This is one of the Bug in BO 3.1. And the only way to resolve this issue is install the fix pack for this.

We installed like this after getting the information from Business Objects Support , after that the issue is resolved. fix pack is available in Business Object site. if you have the valied credential then you can down load and you can install it.

what fix pack did you apply 1.3? We have fp 1.3 and still get the behavior.

Are you using Universes against SAP data sources?

Hi,

A few months ago we installed the SAP BO XI 3.1 (Linux environment).
Now, when we started using the WebIntelligence tool. Started on the problems outlined above.
Is described above correct way to fix it ?
