Web Intelligence 4.3 Relative Position - reference block not available

I have multiple blocks on my report. I’m trying to use Relative Position of the blocks to place them vertically to allow for more/less rows in the block.

For one block, I can position the top of the table on the Bottom side of any other block on the report.

For a different block, when I use the same type of reference, the full list of reference blocks are not available. Some other blocks are there but not all of them. Why wouldn’t all of the block be available for relative positioning?

did you insert e.g. different sections ?
the positioning is not possible across sections !

There are no sections in the report. Just many blocks. It’s very weird behavior. I moved “B” block to the same relative vertical position as the problem one (“A” block). I was then able to select any of the reference blocks for the A block and move it below where I was trying to put it originally.

I have 4 groups of the same 8 blocks - so 32 blocks total. It’s seemingly random as to which blocks I can reference for relative positions.

These blocks, I can only reference the blocks before/behind each of them.

But the very next one, I can reference any other block on the report whether it is in front/below it or behind/before it.

Which BO version are you working with ?
Have you checked note 3070877 ?

We are on 4.3 SP 3 Patch 11 so we have a later version that when that Note was resolved (Patch 02).

Should it be possible to use a bottom side of section as relative positioning reference?

Positioning is only possible from top to bottom.
Only top of the report/section is available as reference.

We’re currently using BI 4.3 SP4 Patch 7 and occasionally see missing drop down lists of blocks. I think its a software bug. I usually try to grab a block that’s been absolutely positioned and move it around so it’s relatively positioned instead, using the new BI 4.3 guides. Sometimes I get lucky and the drop down list of block names reappears.

Maybe it’s a totally different thing:
If a table 1 is already positioned relative to another object 2 and you then change the relative positioning of the object 2, the table 1 will not appear in the selection list to avoid circle references.
Could it be something like that?
