Voyager Connectivity Failure

Hi All,

I’m new to voyager and XI3.0 also, hence i need your help to setup voyager connection:

Issue: I’ve installed BOXI 3.0 on one machine and the CMS database is Oracle 10 g. Now i’ve copied the License key of voyager under CMC>License keys.

I’ve MSAS 2005 on another machine where i’m generating the cubes.

Now Both BO server and the MSAS2005 server are on the same domain ABCorp. user that is logging into both the machine is the same.

I’n BO i’m logging as Administrator.

Its urgently required. Please help.

Regards,

Now when i’m trying to access my cubes i’m getting errors.
Refer to the screenshot for more details.

In Server i tried cubefile, server and Http also.

Guys want to share a few points about the Voyager Connection(assuming this is a remote connection). You can assume this as the checklist before creating the connection.

  1. Do the proper BO XI3 installation.
  2. Add the License keys in CMC.
  3. check the rights on MDAS server.
  4. Check your(user) voyager connection rights.
  5. Please make sure that the necessary services of the SQL server are running and test them by pinging from your system on which voyager is installed.
  6. Check the cube is created in the MSAS and there are no Access rights on it.
  7. Please make sure that you have the OLE DB provider service properly installed on the machine where MDAS server exists.
  8. Make sure that you add the voyager user in MDAS>database>roles.
  9. PLEASE PLEASE make sure that both the BO server and the MSAS 200x server are on the SAME domain. Else you CANNOT create the connection.
  10. when you pass the server as cubefile then make sure that the cube is on the same system. If its elsewhere use Server as Server or URL. And when BO asks for credentials then please provide the credentials that you’ve used to login to the MSAS200x server machine.

I hope this is all required to check just before clicking the connect button on voyager connections page

If i’m missing out anything please add it its a request. As i know how it feels when you need the info and you crave get it in time.

Anyone who feels that this needs some amendments/corrections please do so.

A request to all of you who know how to make a topic sticky please make this sticky … as i can see many people are facing issues in voyager and not much help is available as people are still experimenting…
