BusinessObjects Board

Viewing SQL

Is there ANY way to see the actual SQL code generated by Business Objects Explorer?

Urgent to find out how and where or what its actually creating.

Thanks

So, am I to understand that there is NO WAY to view the SQL put out by Business Objects Explorer? If so, that is poor!

Could you not look at the query while it is executing on the database?

Unfortunately, I do not have access to the server to see it :frowning:

Hi,

As a workaround, create a webireport with exactly the same dimensions and measures and filters, as you have in you information space. View the generated SQL-script via WEBI.

Good luck

Sadly, for a product that’s been around as long as Explorer, it still doesn’t have something as simple as a “View SQL” button.

Bjorn is correct- creating a matching Web Intelligence document is the next best option. Keep in mind that from Explorer you can click on the Export button and export the Information Space directly to Web Intelligence, which can be a time saver compared to manually creating a report (and figuring out which folder the objects come from, etc.)

Thanks this does help with what I’m doing with BOE.

Now my only thing to figure out is how to merge two reports in one but that is another topic.
