I wanted users on a particular deployment to be able to view the latest instance of a report within Infoview by default.
So I changed the Infoview setting in the CMC so that the ‘Default Viewing Action on Listing Page’ would be ‘View the latest successful instance of the object’.
Under the default setting here ‘View the object’. once a user double clicked the report, the report opened
I would have expected that the same behaviour after I changed the setting above, but instead of opening the report, it would open the latest instance.
This doesn’t happen as ‘View’ is no longer the default action (default actions are in bold on the right click). So to view the latest instance, users have to right click and click view.
This defeats the purpose of presenting the users with a simple interface where all reports are scheduled overnight and all they have to do is login and double click on reports to view their results
I’m sure this worked in XI R2…perhaps someone can check for me??
I found that by setting the Infoview Properties to ‘View the latest successful instance of the object’, then if a document had more than 0 instances double-clicking successfully opened the latest instance. Plus they can right-click and select View to see the original document or History to select a particular instance.
However if a document has 0 instances double-clicking had no effect and they have to right-click and choose View to see the document.
So I think we are OK with this, though I would rather the double-click just opened the document if it has 0 instances.
I’m using XI 3.1 and I think I’m getting the same issue as jemstar.
I set the option in InfoView properties to ‘view the latest successful instance of the object’ but it does not work. When I double-click on the report I am always getting a view (rather than looking at the latest instance).
