@variable('BOUSER')

We have a connection set up which uses @variable(‘BOUSER’) to access our oracle warehouse. It works in the old UNV universe. But if I open the exact same connection in the IDT interface, it won’t connect and gives me an “invalid username/password” error.

I don’t know if this will resolve it but try with a username with a simple password like “123456”.

Try with the user name as the end users will use so they have put BOUSER. you can your client and he will provide you. We got the same situation in freehand sql in 3.1

Update from our SAP support guys: @VARIABLE is no longer supported in the credentials for a connection in IDT.

Screws up our security completely.

Did they give you a reason for that? Was that by design, or a stupid oversight?

No explanation. Something to do with being able to use “Business Objects Credential Mapping” instead, which doesn’t really help in our case. Need to get our DBA onto it as we’re currently using oracle to handle the security side and I don’t know what I’m talking about!
