I created sql through Free-hand Sql. I used @variable function for
the prompt to select a value, but it was greyed out. So I entered the
value manually. I was not able to select values by values button.
Did anybody go through this problem. Please give me any suggestion.

Ravi,

Use the @prompt function.
You will find its format in the Help facility.

Have fun!

 Lorenzo,

Thanks for your suggestion. I guess the values should be entered in
the sql prompt. I need to bring up the list of values from database.
Say the column is "facility_number". Is there any option for that?
 Please give me any suggestion.

 Ravi.

Ravi,

You will have to create a universe and define a list of values (LOV) for
facility_number,
unless someone can demonstrate that it can be done using free-hand SQL.

There were very interesting exchanges about this topic late last year.
You might want to search through the archives for list of values or LOV.

I particularly remember someone asking whether scrolling through thousands
of entries
is really warranted.
There was also a detailed procedure on how to implement a list of values for
a universe.

Hope this helps,
