USR0044 error: connection error

I installed Business Objects 6.5 on a collegue’s laptop (only Supervisor and Designer). I gave her the licence signed key and copied in her locdata folder the bomain.key of the repository we need to reach. I gave her a correct copy of the tnsnames.ora file.

I can’t connect to Supervisor with a user (general supervisor) that exists and works fine (I tried out on my PC).

I keep getting errore USR0044: connection error.
I read the online guide, but it isn’t very clear to me: it says I need a *.rss file in the RDBMS directory for the conneciotn to Oracle (we use Oracle 9). I looked in the directory and that file indeed does not exits.
Do I just copy it from my PC (this didn’t work)?
Do I need to remake all the installation?

Please help me!

try to see if the bo error msg provide another oracle error msg clicking on the detail button.

Are you able, from this computer, to connect to oracle repository database using sql+ ? if not, you have a trouble with your middleware ? if not, it is relative to BO?

How many oracle_home do you have ?

rss file are relative to zabo… Are you using it or it’s pure full client install ?

There is no further oracle error message.

I do connect to Oracle using TOAD and SQL+.

What is ZABO?

zabo : zero admin business objects : it’s a full client witout middleware used with webintelligence"

It seems to me rss files where relatives to ZABO.

check other error 0044 in BOB posts
